Day 01: Arrive Colombo – Negombo
Meet and assisted by Travel Consortium India tour co-ordinator in the arrival lounge followed by an assisted transfer to your designated hotel in Negombo for an overnight stay.
Day 02: Negombo – Pinnawala – Habarana (Approx. Distance: 172kms; 3 hrs drive)
After breakfast travel to Habarana the hub of Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle. Stop en-route at Pinnawala elephant orphanage, established in 1975 with seven orphan elephants. Thereafter proceed to Habarana. Located in the north central part of the island, Habarana is a part of Sri Lanka’s dry zone. Remaining of the evening is free to relax or have a walk. Two nights stay at hotel in Habarna.
Day 03: Excursion to Anuradhapura
After breakfast leave excursion to Anuradhapura; Sri Lanka’s ancient capital.
Anuradhapura – a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the north central part of the Island was the first capital (5th century BC - 9th century AD), the centre of the island's Buddhist civilization and undoubtedly the grandest city of ancient Sri Lanka. Later proceed to Habarana and enjoy elephant back ride in the jungles before concluding your day. Stay overnight in Habarna.
Day 04: Hiriwaduna Village experience & Sigiriya
After breakfast we take you through the village of Hiriwadunna by bullock cart ride, to a banana plantation where ripe bananas can be tasted and savoured fresh. Cross a scenic reservoir by long, narrow shape Oruwa (traditional boat), it’s gliding effortlessly on the water, to visit a Chena cultivation.Next visit to an authentic local cottage industry to witness the skillful carving of caricatures from old tree roots.
Later afternoon visit the impressive 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress. Return to hotel for overnight stayin Habranba.
Day 05: Excursion to Polonnaruwa
After breakfast proceed for excursion to Polonnaruwa. Later return to your hotel and in the evening visit Minneriya National Park and do a jeep safari in Minneriya. Return to hotel for overnight stay in Habranba.
Day 06: Habarana - Kandy (Approx. Distance: 95kms; 1 hr 30mins drive)
After breakfast for Kandy, stopping en route in Matale spice growing region for special insight to some unique Sri Lankan agriculture. Also visit traditional spice garden with a cooking Demonstration where you will learn about the unique uses of spices in Sri Lankan cuisine. Later proceed to Kandy, on reaching check-in at the hotel. Evening is free for leisure. Stay two nights at hotel in Kandy.
Day 07: Kandy
After breakfast drive to visit Peradeniya Botanical Garden. Return to Kandy the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and listed as another UNESCO world heritage site. Drive around Kandy Lake, built by the last Sinhala king, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe, in 1798. Visit Kandy town and bazaar, the arts and crafts center, a gem museum, and a lapidary. Also visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy. Overnight stay at hotel in Kandy.
Day 08: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya (Approx. Distance: 78kms; 2 hrs 30 mins drive)
After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya. Arrive and check-in at hotel rest of the afternoon explore this tea country and stay overnight at the hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 09: Nuwara Eliya - Tea GardenTour
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and proceed for Tea Garden Tour. The tea industry in Sri Lanka (Ceylon) is over 150 years old. It is a traditional industry commenced by the British when Ceylon was a colony. Remaining day is fee to relax and enjoy beautiful surroundings. Overnight stay at hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 10: Nuwara Eliya – Ella - Yala (Approx. Distance 205 Kms; 05 hrs)
After breakfast drive Yala en-route to Ella. Ella is blessed with some of the most beautiful views, you could find in Sri Lanka. Only 8 km from Bandarawela. Later continue to Yala. On arrival check in at the hotel and stay overnight in Yala.
Day 11: Yala – Galle (Approx. Distance 192kms; 03-04 hrs)
After breakfast enjoy morning jeep safari to Yala National Park; Sri Lanka’s most known National Park is popular for Elephant, Leopard, Bear, Crocodile and Wild Boar. 97,800 hectares in extent, this is the second largest of Sri Lanka’s National Parks. Later drive to Galle and on arrival in the evening explore Galle; said to be the famous Tarshish of the Bible where King Solomon obtained gems and spices, this “Living” UNESCO World Heritage Site is the port where the Portuguese first landed in Sri Lanka in 1505. Stay overnight stay at Hotel in Galle.
Day 12: Galle – Bentota (Approx. Distance 55kms; 01-02 hrs)
Today drive to Bentota en route stop at Moonstones Mines at Meetiyagoda; Sri Lanka is famous for its precious gems and moonstone. Later proceed to Bentota and in the evening visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery; Kosgoda is famous for its turtle hatchery- operated by the Wild Life Protection Society of Sri Lanka. It was established in 1981 to protect Sri Lanka's turtles from extinction. Stay overnight at the hotel in Bentota.
Day 13: Bentota
After breakfast, day is free for leisure to relax on the beach. In the evening transfer to Balapitiya for a Boat Ride to visit the Cinnamon Quilling. Stay overnight at hotel in Bentota.
Day 14: Bentota – Colombo (Approx. Distance 65kms; 2hrs)
After breakfast transfer to Colombo. On arrival Colombo explore the city of Colombo. Thereafter proceed to airport to take your return flight.
